Predatory flies are natural enemies of the common house fly (Musca domestica) and biting house flies - also called stable flies (Stomoxys calcitrans) and are used to fight unwanted flies in pig and cattle
The Predatory flies are sent out to the stable by post
Predatory flies from Miljøfluen® are sent in perforated bags to the customer by post on a regular basis. Therefore, a control solution with Predatory flies acts as a subscription solution - without binding.
Predatory flies are suitable for stables with slurry ducts
Predatory flies are suitable for stables with slurry ducts, as they look for areas with slurry to lay eggs. The larvae hatched by the eggs eat the larvae of other flies, thereby exterminating them.
The predatory fly's workflow
Step 1. Receive the bag of predatory fly eggs, larvae and pupae. Open the bag lightly so that the predatory flies can find out when they hatch and then place it in the supplied container.
Step 2. When the predatory flies hatch in the bag, they fly out and into the slurry ducts in the stable, where they begin to lay eggs.
Step 3: Of the newly laid eggs, larvae hatch and at this stage the fight against unwanted flies takes place in the stable. The larvae of the predatory flies eat the larvae of other flies, by which they never develop into living house flies or biting house flies.
Step 4: Simply let the predatory fly do its job and add new bags of flies, on a regular basis - how often you can see in our section on subscription without binding.
